Back Care Pilates
Our Back Care Pilates Class is tailored specifically for individuals with back issues. In this class, we prioritise the health and well-being of your spine, focusing on gentle movements and exercises that promote strength, flexibility, and stability while minimising stress on your back.
Our experienced teacher, Hazel, understands the challenges and limitations that come with back problems. She will guide you through a series of carefully selected Pilates exercises that target the core muscles, enhance posture, and improve overall spinal alignment. Each movement is designed to alleviate pain, reduce stiffness, and build a strong foundation for a healthier back.
Modifications and variations are provided to accommodate different levels of flexibility and mobility. The emphasis is on controlled and precise movements, promoting body awareness and helping you develop a deeper connection between your mind and body.
Often props such as stability balls, resistance bands, and foam rollers are incorporated to enhance the effectiveness of the exercises and provide additional support to the back. These props aid in gentle stretching, strengthening, and releasing tension, all while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
If you are currently undergoing treatment for your back, we would suggest you check with your healthcare professional before you start with us. We usually recommend an initial 1:1 lesson to learn the fundamentals and to ensure a group class is the way forward for you.
